Eunice uses creative approaches when working with children to allow them to feel safe to genuinely express themselves in a way that feels natural to them.  A creative approach helps children to become more in tune with their feelings and better able to put their feelings into words.  Eunice also helps children to start developing their own problem-solving skills. Eunice has a warm and playful approach with children and seeks to help them to recognize their already existing strengths.

She seeks to create a space for teens that feels safe and comfortable. There are many problems like anxiety, low mood, school stress, friendships, identity, and conflict with parents that can make things stressful and overwhelming. Eunice connects with teens with empathy, curiosity, encouragement, and humour to help teens to find clarity with their own thoughts/behaviours/feelings, to connect with their core values, and to develop their own solutions. Eunice works with the teen and their parents to build healthier relationships that will allow the teen to feel well supported as they are getting on track.

Eunice also works with young adults who are finding life transitions into college/university or the workplace overwhelming and stressful. This may be a time where you are suddenly presented with many new experiences, are wanting to better understand yourself, or are trying to find your place in the world. Eunice maintains a nonjudgmental and supportive approach to helping young adults process various issues in therapy..

Derek Johnson, MSc.

Many children struggle to allow space for both positive and negative emotions. Some people find it difficult to feel any positive emotion such as joy or excitement and others find it difficult to sit with negative emotion such as anxiety or sadness. The reality is, it’s healthiest to be able to feel a broad range of emotions, including the positive and negative.

Through various research-based approaches Michelle works with clients to meet their individual goals. Michelle aims to empower her clients to see their resiliency and personal strengths, while allowing space for painful emotions. While it’s important to allow oneself to feel negative emotions, these emotions can be so painful and more so if felt in isolation.

Clients appreciate Michelle’s ability to understand and empathize with difficult and complex concerns.
